Sythyry's Journal

Sythyry's Journal, originally posted on LiveJournal from 2002-2008, has been published as a 626-page book.

The journal ostensibly belongs to a young dragon-like Zi-Ri sorcerer, and documents zir adventures on the World Tree.

The work was written by World Tree RPG designer Bard Bloom, and edited by co-author & art director Vicki Borah Bloom.

Cover art is by Tod Willis, creator of Dracula and Ekwara and sketch artist for Crimson Flag.

WhiteWizard purges The Lining from Tapestries

Tapestries MUCK

MUCK head WhiteWizard purged the popular Tapestries location known as The Lining this Monday.[1] The action was in response to an ultimatum posted two days earlier by its owner, Banner, who had threatened to close the bar himself at the end of the month if he did not receive an apology for what he termed "abusive and obnoxious behavior" on WhiteWizard's part.[2]

Copyrighting your Muck Characters?

Often I see on people's websites, and on popular art galleries pictures of their or others muck or role-play characters. And in most instances they are followed by descriptions similar to 'FluffyWuffieBunniekins Copyright Me, Art Copyright Some Guy I Met Online!!!'. Well, sometimes with real names. But do most people understand what copyright means? Lets answer a few common questions...

There's a brand new family-friendly furry RPG and chat club for nonmorphic furry fans interested in roleplaying the Pleistocene (aka "Stone Age") epoch: Paleofurs RPG :)

Micah's Note: Looks like a mailing-list/BBS style game.

New furry supplement to BESM RPG system

No votes yet

Guardians of Order, a Canadian gaming company, recently released a supplement to their tongue-in-cheek anime RPG system Big Eyes, Small Mouth, named, appropriately enough, Big Ears, Small Mouse.

Based on the old toon conventions world of small, sentient mice, bugs and tiny critter toons fighting cats and other big baddies, this sounds like another fun gaming system for furries who like their games more toony, and sounds like a good variation from the current crop of more serious, fantasy based furry role play games offered.

I have yet to try it, but it sounds like a whole bunch of fun.

Supermegatopia RPG Review/Reaction

No votes yet

RPG.net recently posted a generally favorable playtest review of the Supermegatopia Role-Playng Game. Unfortunately, the review generated this reaction on RPG.net's forum where a poster described Supermegatopia as "essentially a comic in which furry animals get naked and have sex like you or I shake hands." While the poster says he has nothing personal against Supermegatopia, he does wonder how SMT's content could support an RPG.

World Tree RPG

No votes yet

This was posted earlier, but it's worth noting again after Further Confusion...Padwolf Publishing has released World Tree, a new furry roleplaying game. The website is at www.world-tree-rpg.com, and you can also read Flayrah.com's interview with creators Bard Bloom and Vicki Borah-Bloom. Did anyone get a chance to play the demos at FC?

World Tree RPG Launch at Further Confusion

No votes yet

The second furry role playing game has just come off the presses, and I hear will be launched at Further Confusion this month: World Tree. I've been playtesting this one (and did some illustrations for it), and it's really fascinating . . . an intricate setting with a logical magical system that actually has repercussions on daily life. An updated website should be ready for FC weekend, so be sure to check back then for order information and a glimpse at Mike Raabe's spectacular cover art.

Flayrah.com Talks with the World Tree RPG Creators

Your rating: None Average: 5 (1 vote)

Micah: I'm here with Bard Bloom and Vicki Borah Bloom, co-creators of the new roleplaying game, World Tree. Could you two tell us a little about it?

Vicki: Sure! The game takes place on a world which is a giant tree. Civilization has flourished on its branches. There are eight prime species who live on the tree, and who are the people whom players can play in the game. The world is full of magic -- even small children cast spells!

Bard: And it is a very civilized place, mostly -- like 18th century Earth in many ways, though aspects of society range from 13th to 23rd century. Except that it is on a tree's branches. The flat tops of the branches are civilized -- but the sides are not. The wilderness is never more than a few dozen miles away from the cities.
