THE END IS NEAR!

Yes, at the end of September the early pre-registration rate for Midwest FurFest will disappear! Starting October 1, 2004, the pre-registration rate will jump from $30 to $40. How do you avoid having to pay this extra money? Easy! Simply point your browser to http://www.furfest.org/registration. You can download a registration form there, or register online. It's as simple as that. Remember though, to get the special early pre-registration rate, you'll need to register online before midnight, September 30, or make sure that your mailed-in registration is postmarked by September 30.

SPONSORS

Want to help support Midwest FurFest? Want to have lunch with the Guests of Honor? Want to get neat stuff? If you said yes to any of these, then you can register as a sponsor. For only $100, you can have lunch with the Guests of Honor, get neat little gifts (T-shirt/Pin/prints/something neat), and you will have the gratitude from the staff of Midwest FurFest.

NEW FORM FOR MINORS

In the past we have had some questions about what exactly is needed for minors to attend Midwest FurFest. We have simplified this with a Parental Consent Form for Minors (available at http://www.furfest.org/registration/minorform.pdf). How does this work?

If you will be 16 or 17 years old on Friday, November 19, 2004 and wish to attend Midwest FurFest without your parent or guardian with you, you MUST have this form signed by your parent or guardian and notarized. You will not be admitted to the convention without this form, fully completed.

If you are below the age of 16, you must be accompanied by your parent or guardian. If you are not accompanied, you will not be admitted to the convention.

Again, we apologize that we must make these rules but they are necessary in this litigious age.

A GENTLE REMINDER

Finally, a reminder to all attendees that you MUST have a valid photo I.D. to receive a badge. If you do not have a valid photo I.D., we cannot give you a badge and you will not be admitted to the convention.

<-*-*-*-> Hotel News <-*-*-*->

Just a reminder-- Hotel rooms start going quickly in September, and if you want to be sure of getting a room, you should make your reservation soon. Call the hotel at (847) 605-1234 and mention Midwest FurFest to get the con rate of $89/night.

<-*-*-*-> Charity Auction <-*-*-*->

Welcome, Furry Friends Foundation!

For 2004, Midwest Furfest welcomes Furry Friends Foundation (www.furryfriendsfoundation.com), a local no-kill shelter. Located in the heart of Chicago, and founded in 1998, Furry Friends has placed over 1500 dogs, cats, rodents, birds, reptiles, and other needy animals in good homes. Furry Friends is supported solely through donations from the community, and Furfest is thrilled to be hosting them for this year's Charity Auction!

Furry Friends is currently more in need of donations than ever. They just received a new facility from a generous benefactor, which will allow them to consolidate their shelter operations under one roof. It will also allow them to greatly expand the services they offer. But new treatment rooms and dog runs don't come cheap!

Year after year, Midwest Furfest's generous donors and bidders have gone above and beyond in the cause of helping local animals. We're hoping that this year, we can all make a big dent in the remodeling costs for Furry Friends! For details on how to donate, go to www.furfest.org/events/auction.

<-*-*-*-> Dealer's Room <-*-*-*->

The Dealers Room is full! We do offer a waiting list, however, please contact dealers@furfest.org for information about being added to the waiting list. A list with all of the attending dealers is available at http://www.furfest.org/dealers.

Calling all artists! FurFest is just around the corner, but we still have panels and table space available. If you haven't gotten your reservations printed out and mailed in, don't hesitate one moment longer because we're filling up fast.

The Art Show Rules and Reservation Form are available on the FurFest website, easily accessed at http://www.furfest.org/events/artshow. Deadline for space reservations is September 30th, We still have slots for mail-in artists, so if you can't attend the con you can still display your work at our event.

If you have any questions or wish to confirm the receipt of your reservation form, please feel free to e-mail Feren with your inquiry at artshow-confirm@furfest.org

We look forward to seeing you in MFF 2004's Art Show!
