What is Flayrah?

Flayrah is an unusually good source of information for members of furry fandom.

How can I subscribe to Flayrah?

We have an RSS feed, LiveJournal syndication, and a Twitter account.

What we're looking for

  • News and features - First and foremost, Flayrah is a news site. From the closure of a furry convention to an in-depth report on the latest fursuit tourney, or the release of a new race on Furcadia, we provide up-to-date, factual news on topics our readers care about.
  • Reviews - Read, seen or played something fandom-relevant, and want to let others know what you thought? This is the place.
  • Guides - Most of us know something of interest, whether it be creating the perfect tail - in real life, or on Second Life - drawing them, or selling them. If you know how, and are willing to share your knowledge, we want to hear what you have to say.
  • Opinion - Well-considered and argued opinion pieces have a place here, particularly those addressing current issues. Please write these with care, and in such a way that they can be easily distinguished from news articles.
  • Original material - We expect some information to be derived from elsewhere (remember to link your sources) but originality is encouraged. If nothing else, rewrite the story in your own words and add context for those unfamiliar with the topic.

What we don't want

  • Promotion - Flayrah isn't a good place for unfiltered promotion. Feel free to post about things you feel are important, but try to make a proper news post out of it rather than just dumping the content of your blog post or newsletter here. If you want to advertise, buy an ad.
  • Flames - Organizations, named groups and websites are fair game for critical opinion. Individuals usually are not. Grind your axe elsewhere.
  • Mature content - Readers should feel free to read Flayrah wherever they are. You can write about mature topics, but keep posts work-safe.

Posts and comments failing these criteria are likely to be poorly rated, removed from the front page, or deleted.
