Future of Further Confusion (hotel) - Poll Announcement

Your rating: None Average: 5 (3 votes)

As we stated at our board meeting at the convention this year, we are seeking our supporters and staffs input into the direction for FC for 2009/2010.

Towards that end, we are posting a poll on our website regarding that matter. We'll keep this open until May 31st. PLEASE participate and spread the word on this as the Board of Directors wants to make sure we include your views in any decisions we make.

Doubletree seems to be at a nice price point, and is very convenient. I'm not sure I actually see the drawback to having an attendance cap.

If, however, it happens to move to the convention centre/Marriot, I won't complain too loudly (I'm down there very close to FC-time for SPIE/IS&T Electronic Imaging, and when the dates line up (like they did in 2006), you'll have a hard time keeping me _away_ from FC.

I voted to keep it at the hotel for now. In terms of efficiency, it seems like the best option. FC is already very big for a furry con, and manages to pack a lot of furs into a small space for a low cost. Not sure other venues could do that so well. It is a "sweet spot".

Of course, I don't know what AAE's long-term objective for the con is. If they really do want to expand, they're going to have to make a move sometime. Still, Anthrocon would have waited longer if they'd had the option. Don't know if it was a good or bad thing for them to have to move early (I guess the test is this year . . .).
