Not a Nintendo character; but that didn't stop Snake getting into Brawl...
Although unlikely, it would be awesome if he ever did show up as a guest fighter.
Side note: Klonoa had a cameo in Taiko Drum Master, another game by Namco, in the form of a song from the series, "Stepping Wind"/"Wahoo Stomp". Alas the song was only in Taiko 6 (The newest version is... 14?) and the game never saw an arcade release in Americas.
With Namco Bandai doing the next Smash Bros.... hey, it might just happen!
Ah if only Nintendo still owned Rare... I'd totally love to see Conker appear in the game.
Let's go for a long-forgotten character and bring back Wart from Super Mario Brothers 2 - he'd be a novel character, if not that then make him some sort of mini-boss :P
