“I’m starting to feel sorry for furries. I wonder why they became the geek sub-class that it’s okay to openly mock and despise? Perhaps there should be a fur acceptance movement. [via DORK TOWER, Wednesday, June 15, 2011] -http://curiocity.org/post…

This was in response to Dork Tower posted yesterday:

Before any of you get bent out of shape, appreciate the comic for what it is.  No screaming Fursecution…

Forgotten Furries: The Missing Characters of Sonic The Hedgehog

Furry News Network - Thu 16 Jun 2011 - 21:00

Via Charuri-Kun

With Sonic Generations coming upon us in time for the holidays, as well as 2011 being Sonic’s 20th anniversary, it’s a great time to take a look back at the franchise’s extensive history. A lot has changed in Sonic’s 20 years of breaking speed limits and smashing Badniks. The changes have been so drastic, you could even say that Classic Sonic and Modern Sonic are a part of two separate worlds. There may be some truth to that. While Modern Sonic’s world really leaves no mystery behind it, Classic Sonic has a few more skeletons in his closet: missing levels, unreleased games, and, most notably, missing and never-before-seen characters.

?A Slideshow for Oswald the Lucky Rabbit??

furryne.ws - Thu 16 Jun 2011 - 13:31
Not too bad of a slideshow. Some shot do make it look way too much like Mickey, and I think they should have added some more color to Oswald.

What's the difference between a Furry and an Anthro?

Furry Reddit - Thu 16 Jun 2011 - 02:13

Im not really a furry. I don't really consider my self as one, but i do apreciate good, tastefull art. I like anthropomorphized art mostly because of my love towards fantasy and Sci-Fi, and i just think it's cool and it fuels my immagination. But im confused....

I have noticed some sort of animosity between people who consider themselves furries and those who consider themselves anthros.

Some furries claim that anthro's are just furries in denial, while anthros claim that furries are perverted and blah, blah, blah that kind of stuff (there are perverts on both sides).

But is there any sort of difference? By definition, furries ARE anthros as the umm..... anthropomorphization is complete, and yet i still notice a difference.

Take this as an example. This is considered anthro

While this is considered furry

As i can see it, anthro's are more animal than human, while furries are more human than animal ( and many are depicted with blue, purple fur ).

Please don't flame, im just asking out of curiosity. Please post you're thought's on the whole matter.

A First Look at Upcoming Films

In-Fur-Nation - Thu 16 Jun 2011 - 01:45

The International Licensing Expo, held every year in Las Vegas, is a great change to get a first look at cool upcoming new movies as various merchandise companies compete to get a chance to serve the movie studios with new character-themed lunchboxes, t-shirts, cel phone app’s and more. The folks at ComingSoon.net and Cartoon Brew recently presented a report on this year’s expo, with the latter of course mostly looking at animated films of note. Among them are two from Dreamworks, Madagasgar 3 and Rise of the Guardians, and one from Illumination, the Lorax. In Madagasgar 3, hitting theaters next June, Alex the Lion and his friends join a traveling circus in hopes of getting back to New York City. Rise of the Guardians (formerly The Guardians of Childhood) is based on an upcoming book by William Joyce (creator of Rolie Polie Olie and Meet the Robinsons). It tells the story of four childhood heroes — Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and Jack Frost — who join forces to prevent The Boogeyman from sending the world into eternal darkness.  It’s scheduled for release in November of 2012. And of course The Lorax is based on the popular (and shamelessly controversial) children’s book by Dr. Seuss, telling the story of a forest spirit who attempts to save his home from destruction by industry. It’s coming to theaters next March from Universal Pictures.

Hacker group draws unwanted attention to Furries

Furry News Network - Wed 15 Jun 2011 - 21:07

LulzSec has waged war on Anonymous. In their Tweets HERE and HERE, they mention seeing a posting on /b/ where Anonymous advised that LulzSec was being too aggressive and needed to back off on its attacks or be hunted by Anonymous.

In LulzSec’s reponse, they refer to Anonymous as /b/tards -which is not uncommon to see, but referring to them as furries and the “furry hoard” has begun to draw in some unwanted attention to furries.  Hundreds of blogs and dozens of news sites have begun reprinting the tweets from LulzSec, and broadcasting them in some news casts and podcasts.

?Lioness tries to eat baby at the zoo.??

furryne.ws - Wed 15 Jun 2011 - 17:43
People seem to be a bit freaked out by this video thinking the lion is trying to eat the baby. I agree more with the sentiment that the lioness wants to play with the kid.
