Screw originality. Originality is so overrated and trying to be original ultimately ends up limiting your creative potential. This applies to every creative endeavour. Yes originality is nice, but it shouldn't be the focus of your craft, because honestly anything you think of has been done before.

Remember that it doesn't have to be original, it just needs to be good and true to yourself.

I've been lurking here and there for few months now and furries seem to be a very nice community. I'm a furry since like 1 year and it's like the best thing ever though I'm definitely passive member.

I would like to meet some furries from Europe (not necessarily, but it would be great to meet irl possibly), since I feel lonely recently.

Something about me (my fursona): My name is Kiemi, I am a 22 yo male husky, I like to cuddle a lot, listen to music, ride a bike and a few more things. I am bi if that matters.

So, I've officially decided that I'm a furry...

But, I don't have a clue on how to further move on this subject. Help?

Edit: Let me explain a little but further. I want to fully immerse myself in the furry community, but I haven't said a single thing to anyone. I'd love to go to conventions, but how should I go about it? I'd love to buy art and develop my fursona, but how should I go about it?

Edit 2: Request for a full list of everywhere you lovely people hang out at. I can already guess FA is going to be one of them!

Edit 3: Request for a list of your favorite furry artists that would accept commissions.

Howdy all!

I hope those of you who are going are as excited as I am! This'll be my second con! (first was RMFC '14). I'm really looking forward to meeting up with some friends I haven't seen in a long time, and checking out Dallas a bit as I've never been visited beforehand.

Like last time I've got butterflies in my stomach from the excitement, but I'm really looking forward to TFF.

And this time around, both my mate and myself will be wearing partial fursuits!

Okay, so this idea has been bouncing around in my head for...oh 5 years now, or so. I have been to...well it will be 72 cons in March and I have noticed that cons are catering to younger furs (So parties, panels geared towards younger furs, etc) and I have often sat in the lobby of the hotel and said to myself "I am getting way too old for this". Well, on one of those days, an idea creeped into my head. I figured, what the hell let's post the idea up on /r/furry and see what response I get.

The idea of GreyCon is to set a minimum age at either 25 or 30, haven't decided fully on that, and gear the con more towards...social and less towards what cons are now. I really can't give any examples as most are in the UK or Europe, and are invite only so most of you probably have not experienced such a thing. It would be a shorter con (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday) and it would be a place for the Greymuzzles to get together to decompress.

Now, certain things would be put in place to allow younger furs but they would be strictly monitored. First thing would be SOs would be allowed (Assuming they are not known to be furries that cause problems) and the second thing would be a voucher system. You can vouch for your friend who may be under the age limit, however if that person caused trouble, you would have the same punishment as that other person would (Essentially you would be...well responsible for them).

Another goal would be security that was both trustworthy (Some cons have security staff that is...meh) and also wield the power to remove you from the con if they felt you were a problem. I would not tolerate some things I have seen happen at cons (Groping of women without consent, various lewd activities in public or con areas, etc). Now, these things are, thankfully, becoming less common but they are still there.

So, my questions are: A.) Is this even /remotely/ interesting to those who could attend and B.) What time frame would work best (Meaning month, time of the month, or even just a time of the year)?
