Maybe I should put a [Serious] tag here too.

It seems that every time I mention furries, someone says "oh yeah the guys who fuck in those suits, gross, get the fuck outta here perv". But what is the real ratio with people who just love to dress up as their characters opposed to people who actually perform adult acts in suits?

And is it different in Europe compared to rest of the world (USA)?

My educated guess would be somewhere in 1-3% ballpark. I hope it's lower. Tried finding some research but couldn't find none. Of probably 200 furries, I know exactly two people who have engaged in such behavior (and thus are not welcome with their suits to any public stuff and/or my place.) Others either don't tell, have a separate murrsuit or just plainly don't do it.

Any thoughts?

I'm a novice fursuit builder in the making about to start work on another head for the holiday season and with a bigger budget. As such, I have very little experience with finding locations to buy materials from. The only fur I could find on Amazon was 2" pile (way too long and needed excessive shaving) and pretty pricey. Any craft stores/websites you guys know of that has shorter-pile fur?

Another discovery from the CTN Animation Expo (in Burbank, California): Cale Atkinson is an artist and animator who recently created a short called Li’l Red (as seen on Furry.Today). The little girl’s reaction to meeting the Big Bad Wolf is… not what you’d think. His web site has links to that short and several others, as well as examples of his art and illustration.

Hi, so I'm new to the site but this place seemed like a good place to start. I am a straight Wolf guyfur who is into wearing a wolf tail. However, I want to date a woman who does not have to be a fur. When I have been with female friends, I even scares me to show this strong side of me to them because I am interested in some of them and I don't want to scare them away. Even my desktop and phone have furry stuff on it and I don't want them to see it. Does anyone have any advice to make this easier?

I say coin flip, because I'm trying to decide on an event for next year.

Megaplex in orlando.

I'd like to go again like I have the past 2 years. Generally my tax return has paid for the trip safely. with airfare, share of room cost, and food and all.

But, this coming year. I'm indecisive if i should go or not, as I want to use my tax returns to start saving for once, for a change.

what do you guys think?

I guess I should explain myself. Really just a curious bystander with a throw away account who wants to understand how the whole furry culture works. I don't really understand the whole fursona bit, but I do enjoy the art work. I hope haven't offended anyone. EDIT: thank you all very much for informing me. I may have to join this party soon! :D
