Please excuse the rant…

I’ve been a fan of furries for a number of years but I’ve only really started getting ‘into’ the fandom, lurking around these parts and FA. I don’t know if I really consider myself a furry yet but it’s been a thought in the back of my mind. Even so, I'm very 'quiet' about it. A friend of mine and I have decided make the trek to Chicago next weekend for MWFF as a “that sounds like it could be fun”. All seemed well in the world and I was mentally prepping myself for the fun I would hopefully have. I was glad that he decided to come along with and be my, unbeknownst to him, moral support.

I get a call today from said friend informing me that his work is requiring him to attend a meeting on Friday. The day we were planning on being in Chicago for the start of the convention. He is still attending but won't be able to make it out until sometime Saturday. So that leaves me coming to the convention alone. This being my first ever convention, let alone being a furry convention, and while I know it's all in my head and I should have nothing to worry about, I can't help but feel... Anxious. I have no idea what to expect but I plan to attend as much of the conference solo as I’m able to.

I know I probably have nothing to worry about but if anyone could send some words of 'everything will be okay' my way it'd be greatly appreciated.
