So im posting this on a throwaway, but heres whats happening:

When I joined the furry fandom about 2 years ago, I made myself a female fursona, and even claimed to be female online, mainly because at that point I was mainly in it for the sex based stuff.

However as time has gone on, ive gotten more involved, made friends, commissioned art, and I feel like im being held back because my online fursona isnt a true representation of myself.

I want to start again, make a new FA account, reddit account, everything, and do everything true to myself, but at the same time i dont want to lose all the friends i've made, art I have, and just everything really.

Im so confused as to what I should do, I was hoping you guys might have some advice. Thank you so much

Speak from your own experience. Is it your want to be an animal that makes you dress this way? Is it your love for anthropomorphic animal fiction? What causes you to enjoy your hobby?

I guess I should consider myself a furry because I have mentally made a fursona which is a fox. I have also found rule 34 which I enjoy looking at for scientific reasons. I believe my first contact with the fandom was when I found a story on Deviantart involving a taur virus a few years ago. It plagued my interest and is still on my mind to this day. If I could do one thing for this fandom I guess it would be to make a tool which would make fursonas more permanent via genetic modifications while also being reversible if needed. I am extremely shy to the point that I had to build up the guts to type all this out while distracting myself at the same time so I would not delete it instantly.
