Haven't seen you guys in a while. It's a bit rough, but here's a little sketch I threw together real quick for you guys. Make an attempt to enjoy!
Any furrymucks similar to Furcadia or Second Life?
I've been a furry for quite some time, starting back in the early days of Furcadia, and moved on to Second Life for some time. I moved away from home after graduating college, and took a break from Second Life and all forms of networking while I settled into my new surroundings. Now, I'm looking to get back into networking and making friends with fellow furs. Are there other forms of social interaction online for furries like myself, sans Second Life and Furcadia?
Apologies for the extensive background story. I stumbled across this subreddit a while back, and finally got the courage to post and branch out and attempt to make friends. Any and all advice is appreciated.

Need A Little Help Here.
I am incapable of drawing, due to multiple hand injuries when I was younger, so I can't make awesome art like many others. I tried writing, but found I can't properly describe my characters. Any ideas on how I can an active member of the community?

Questions, questions. You have answers, I want them!
Hello all. Just popping in to say "Hi." and see what you guys are like. I consider myself a fairly casual furry and don't really go to cons or clubs or anything. They seem fun, but aren't my thing. So, my experience and knowledge of furry culture is limited. I thought I'd come here and just talk to people, if you don't mind.
(I suppose this also serves as a bit of an introduction for me. So hello again!)
I have a list. These are in no particular order. Feel free to ignore any and all of the following. Start a tangent if you like. Ask me something or correct a mistake. Whatever you want! I'm curious and don't mind checking back here occasionally to reply.
.
1) What kind of furry are you? (Are there official levels or anything?) - A mild one who just likes the art? - A casual one who likes the art and parts of the culture, but doesn't want to have a fursona or go to cons? - A true fan, who does the above but has their own fursona, possibly a suit, and who goes to cons and meet-ups when they can? - Or a hardcore furry who has multiple suits, steeps in furry culture and media, and isn't afraid to be open about their passion with non-furries? - None of the above, some mix, all are wrong? Let me know. :D
I'm casual about it. It's interesting and entertaining, but nothing I take too seriously or devote a lot of effort towards.
.
2) Do you have a fursona? Do you have two? Three? How detailed are they? Backstory? Alternate Universe or reality-based? How have they changed over time? Are there any compromises you had to make in developing them? Or was it just something you 'always knew', which just organically grew?
Like I said, I don't have one. If I did, it might be the horribly common fox. Not sure on a species or anything.
.
3) What got you into the scene? I know I just stumbled upon it one day and thought "Hey, this is alright. I think this fits me.". Was it the porn? Why am I even asking? It's always the porn. Nevermind.
.
4) So the porn reeled you in. (Don't deny it.) What keeps you a furry fan besides the porn?
For me, like I said, I like the overall lightheartedness of the culture. Everyone's just wanting to express themselves in different ways. People here generally like to have fun and be silly. There's no great moral debate or anything to stress over. It's just silly, fun, social, and occasionally sexy.
.
5) How open are you with your friends? Hm. Is there a name for non-furries? Anyway, how open are you about it with friends, family, or the public?
I honestly find it slightly embarrassing, but not wrong or anything. Since I'm causal about it, I don't feel the need to tell anyone. It's like enjoying an unpopular band for me. It's kind of at a level where it seamlessly fits into "normal" life, so I don't even think about it. I know a lot of people have fun and go crazy with furry stuff. So, what about you?
.
6) Adding on to that, how does it affect your life, if at all? Does it leak into your daily life much? Have a lot of furry paraphernalia laying around?
Like I said; for me, it doesn't change much.
.
7) What do you think is the best part of being a furry, or about the culture in general? The worst? What's something you'd improve?
The best is the general cheerfulness. The worst...hm. Maybe the times when people take it too far and confuse reality and fantasy. What would I improve? The costumes. Don't get me wrong, the suits today are pretty impressive, but I can't shake the feeling of an amusement park worker every time I see them. Maybe make something more form fitting or less poofy?
.
8) On that note, what style of art do you like the best? I know there's a variety of different styles between humans with ears or tails (not really furry) and animals with human minds. Most people fall somewhere in-between, I think. There are tons of different shades between the two extremes. Realism, ratio of human to animal, hands and feet, etc.. So pick the style that you tend to think of when you hear "furry".
What I think of: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v143/omnibahumut/m_1159034252611.jpg
.
9) Lastly, any personal info you want to share? I don't mean anything identifying or important. I'm just curious what sort of percentages there are for various groups. You don't have to share this info. I can make an anonymous survey later if people want to share, but don't want their names attached to it. Just let me know.

Well, that's all I can think to ask at the moment. I hope this fosters a discussion or something.
EDIT: Holy crap balls at all the replies! I'll respond to them, I swear. Just...gimme a few minutes. I'm busy at the moment.
EDIT2: I replied to a bunch of people. I didn't reply to everyone, 'cause I didn't want to spam the thread, but I think I got all the questions. If I missed you or you want to talk about something, just let me know.

Any teen furs?
Or am I alone? I know theres a forum specifically made for teen furs ( furryteens.org ) but I wasn't really interested in it after a while because things sort of died down and it was pretty boring there tbh. I just wanted to know if theres any teen furs here.
If you're a teen fur then maybe send me a message and we can be friends or something. I'm looking for more furry friends and its nice to have some around my age y'know.
Edit : I'm 15 c:
Update: Do guys think I should start a sub-forum for teen furs since there are waay more teens than I originally thought?

A tactical card game inspired by classic Japanese RPGs…
Note: This is an older post that I’ve updated with new information. FYI. Apologies if there are minor inconsistencies, please review the kickstarter itself for the latest!

It’s been just over a year since game designer Chris Solis launched Terreria Tactics, Terrene Odyssey’s first incarnation. Now the tactical fantasy card game is back, with a leaner plan, pocket-sized price points, and a strong showing on day one. And it’s still a great game.
Here’s the principle, one that’s going to be familiar to fans of the early Final Fantasy and Ultima-type games: everything comes down to how you build your party, so your winning plan begins on turn zero. Each player (and the game seats two to four) builds a tight four-member party, equipping each member with an item or a command card. Round it out with a location that subtly affects how your characters spend actions and evolve (the same party might play differently based in a ruined city, windy plateau, or fish-market). Bam, you’re ready for your first skirmish.
Just on the surface, there’s a lot to like. First and foremost, the art of Terrene Odyssey is pretty darn cool, particularly for fans of dragons and raptors. You can take a look at Terrene’s Deviant Art gallery or art lead Megan “Megillakitty” Cheever’s FA page for a few more glimpses of the world. It’s not just lizards and birds of course, there’s also humans, aliens, golems, robots, and extradimensional weirdness. But they’re really good dragons.
The game’s rules strongly emphasize player agency (strategic play) over chance. You can get a good look at them on the team’s youtube channel, or just dig straight into the rulebooks–but really, the videos are a better friendly guided tour, whisking you through game play basics, the ten character classes/types, card types, and some advanced concepts to shake the game up–I particularly like the “supply” mechanic, where as game play moves forward, you start with four one-supply-point proles, then advance toward competent “adventurer” type characters that have a modest array of abilities, and finally, three-point “end boss” characters, giving a real sense of an epic, monster-stomp showdown.
The new product structure is built around two sets of two card selections, built within a broad theme–the forces of one of four powerful nobles. Each package has enough variety to build a few different parties and decks, so you’re able to get quickly into play, but can still pick and choose and build to an initial strategy. The price of $20 for one of these two base game packages is pretty much on par with non-collectable card games–maybe a bit easier on the pocketbook than other games of this complexity.
However.
However, those crazy people that crave, nay, live for, completion will want to get the reasonably priced, grand guignol Big Box package, which has six different “vs” decks, a dozen dozen supplemental cards, and a few other bells and whistles. While I love the shopping cart pricing of the smaller packages, clearly, the completionists are winning this round.
It’s been fun to see this project evolve, to see how the crowdfunding approach has shaped the final vision of the Terrene/Terreria. Originally Solis led with some low-price tchoctchkes that really didn’t dip into the game itself, marketing swag instead of the complete package. The cards themselves started at $40, which was maybe a little high for casual interest. This is a strong medium between them, a playable game at low levels–and furries can get JUST the dragons and birds, and take a pass on all those humans. Even the messaging changed, a little less tactics and a little more story, from a hopeful “about the creator” video with extended examples clocking in at well over five minutes to a concise, 1:40 elevator speech that jumps immediately into the meat of the game.
Anyway, do check out the Kickstarter page, and the videos. If you’re on the fence about this project, check out the print-and-play that’s got a whole bunch of sample cards and rules, enough to get a real sense for how a scenario might play out. Or do what I do, look at the pretty pictures and wait for that darn release date.
Note: Images used above are included to promote the work of crowdfunding artists, and are owned by the original creator. And special thanks to Megan Cheever for “Gold Plz,” the illustration for this post.

Furry Theories: Origins and Evolutions
Hi. This is my first post on reddit and on r/furry for that matter. I've lurked for quite a while and would like to share some headcanons and theories on furries and a plausible history of the species.
- Humans and furries(general) have a common ancestor
C.A.- homo instabilus
Notes- it is the name for the common ancestor. It is a branch of humanity that mutated faster then humans as a whole. A protein mutation causes the body to adapt to an area faster and develop animal-like traits depending on the reigon. This is the earth common ancestor. This branch only encompases natural earth species.
Alien furs have a natural affinity toward dark matter/energy manipulation. It was taught to earthen furs, effecting biology. Those who learn "magic" gradually get effected by it. Bio-luminecence is the effect. It often effects the eyes first, causing them to glow and/or change color. Next is the fur, etching flowing patterns of discoloration. Extreme cases effect the skin. Most colors are neon-like with no adverse effect on the person (note: this effect is permenant!).
Furs of mythos origin (dragons, gryphons, etc.) happen thru natural selection and/or gene mutation.
All furs have a human-hybrid brain. Despite an animals natural brain size, a furs brain is effective enough to give it the same processing power of humans.
Humans with slight animal characteristic have a furry past. Most likely, through a couple generations, a gene mutation to the developing embryo.
Extreme mutation is caused by isolation (ie, ocean patterns, shifting colors, etc).
Avian furs stem from mountian reigons, scalies from swamp and desert, and others from plains and forests (excluding land-based mountian, desert, and swamp animals).
