So, I'm writing a story about furry culture for my school's lgtbq magazine at syracuse university. I need to interview someone who is a furry and who is immersed in the culture and knowledgeable about it. There is a lot of misunderstanding about the culture and I seek to write a truthful story, educating people about what it is and what it is not. This interview would need to be done by phone. So, if you want to help me out that would be sooooo great!

EDIT: You CAN be anonymous!! And this is to put furries in a good light. I take my subject matter very sensitively so anything you tell me won't be judged or turned around and be used negatively. I can even send you a draft before it is published.

Hey /r/furry!

I'm a new comp sci major, and one of the ways that I learn is from doing actual programming assignments myself (stuff that'll actually make an impact). My latest project that I've decided to take on is going to be making a furry website.

While the main focus of this will be art, I intend to make it incorporate all things furry, making this site an easy access into the fandom, an making it easier for artisans to share their work and collect feedback on it.

As with any good product, I intend to draw it based on feedback from the consumer, and before I start doing any coding, I'd like to ask for suggestions that you guys would like to see from a new furry site.

Amongst the basics, I'd already like to...

• Create a devalued version of the favorite
• Use this devalued version (the "like", I'll call it for now), as a measurement of what art the user is interested in.
• Present a clean and elegant frontpage of new suggestions of art based on the user's interest.
• Use "like"s as a better gauge of interest for the artists and the works they're generating. (As opposed to favorites, which I feel gives too much value to the favorite, and is used more sparingly than it should, likes will most likely not be public)
• Create a good mobile app, or at least an API.
• Give greater support for transactions (such as auctions, and general buying of commissions, etc.)
• Somehow increase the value of works other than art.
• Give greater support to general open discussions amongst interest groups, integrated into the main site.
• Give greater support to roleplaying.

I want to do all these things, mainly because I need practice, but also because I feel that the community is already fragmented, and has a lot of overhead relating to wanting to interact with others in specific ways, (if I want to chat live with other people, I have to go to this site, where as when I post my artwork it needs to be here, etc.)

I'm open to any and all suggestions, and just wanted to query you guys before I started writing anything. Thanks for your time!

I'm in a wedding, and they want me to be the "ring bear". I'll be wearing a tux, but need to find a bear head that will have a collar piece that will tuck into the shirt.

Any ideas where I can get a bear head? Preferably a rental, but can buy if needed. I'm in Texas, I have one month from today.
