Toons Take It Out On Us!
Now here’s something kinda different: Toons go meta. Oni Press has announced that Rascal Raccoon’s Raging Revenge, a new full-color hardcover graphic novel, will be released in early December. Brendan Hay (of Robot Chicken fame) wrote the script, and Justin Wagner did the toony illustrations. Here’s the publisher’s description: “Welcome to Toonie Terrace, home of the fun-loving Merries and their jealous, bitter rivals, the Meanies. For all their shenanigans, no Meanie has ever murdered a Merrie… until now! After thousands of painful failed attempts, Rascal Raccoon has finally killed his arch-nemesis, the charming and adorable Jumpin’ Jackalope. Rascal is overjoyed, but there’s one problem: What does he do now? With nothing left to obsess over, Rascal’s life falls apart. Fortunately, he soon finds a new target for his anger: The animator who created him!” Comic Book Resources has an on-line preview where you can see just what kind of havoc these toons create when they come looking for the humans who draw delight from their troubles!

hello, so here's the thing, i was durpping around on on Ok Cupid and come across this account and they give all the signs that i've come to associat with being a fur or seems to be a fad to say you like in the furdom in there run down,: 'a poly, cuddles, they like to think about food, and have a BDSM fetish and like sex which is not a furry only thing but your getting the picture, even say they like going to a con in the (melb) city, but not which one (there is a fur con that happens there and everyone els i've read that says con has said what ones) but i dont wanna come right out and go 'hay i like going to FA' or changing my profile to have the same things and end up with something that doest sound like me, although i do like all of those things but never tyred BDSM, and to suddenly change what i say about myself to say the same things as them seems a bit wrong.
so! i'm thinking the furry fan-dome could make some tells but at lest have something that could be put on a web site that say ' hay i don't mind furry's and there there art" or ' i am a (PG) fur' ' i am a a fur who likes + : tf, tg, blood, diapers, and Every other fetish in existence.' only problem being these fetish tell's would probably get out to the general public so i don't think we should make them.

A coworker rambles about "furred people" aesthetics. Have you ever stumbled in furry conversations from non-furries?
I often lunch with a group of coworkers and we usually talk about all sorts of stuff, usually geeky stuff.
Yesterday, a coworker started to talk about the hypothetical use of bioluminescence-causing substances at parties, then moved to explain ideas about how among furred people some would get full body tribal "haircuts", shave body parts to get tatoos, dye, braid and grow dreadlocks, the demand and profit of hair product industries, the inconveniences of shedding fur and the necessity of clothes for such occasions. I contributed with some theories about the difficulties of dealing with fire and how baths would be far more demanding, but he mostly went on on his own.
While the other coworkers interpreted "furred people" as wookies, I had a very different interpretation ;3.
Most of my other coworkers were puzzled, but I thought it was very interesting, even if unexpected. I questioned him later and he said he was just thinking about how such differences would affect society. I commented about how the possibility of different animals evolving somewhat similarly to humans and how the behavioral differences would create different civilizations, but I got no response.
I know quite a few furries from where I live but, as far as I know, he isn't one, which makes the entire thing even more amusing.
Has anything similar happened to you?
Edit: Fixed some stuff I accidentaly

Episode 157 - Welcome Scorpions
A wannabe furry is Wondering (X-Post from r/furries)
(Thanks to throwaway_away_away for pointing me to this proper sub-reddit)
I don't really know how to explain it, but I will try my best...
Ever since I started getting involved in the Convention Scene (Sci-fi, Fantasy, Geek Etc) I have started to get to know furries. Now at first they were just fun and cool people to hang out with, but after a while and attending the local furry con for two years (It's a small one, about 100-125 people), I have started to feel more and more compelled to the furry fandom.
At what point do you call yourself a furry? :)

Awesome Pandas on TV
Word is out that Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness, the long-awaited TV spinoff from Dreamworks’ Kung Fu Panda movies, will finally be coming to television on Monday, November 7th. It will premier on Nickelodeon at 5:30 pm, Eastern and Pacific time. First up will be a full week of brand new episodes every week day, followed by weekly new episodes on Friday nights starting December 2nd. The series takes place in between the two Kung Fu Panda movies, following adventures of Po the Panda — also known as the Dragon Warrior — and the Furious Five, along with their mentor, the red panda Master Shifu. Several new characters and villains will be introduced as well. From the feature films, only Lucy Liu (Viper) and James Hong (Mr. Ping, Po’s adoptive father) reprise their roles; other voices are handled by the likes of Mick Wingert, Kari Wahlgren, Amir Talai, Max Koch, Fred Tatasciore, and James Sie. Cartoon Brew has a write-up directly from Dreamworks that has even more information. By the way: Kung Fu Panda 2 comes to DVD and Blu-Ray on December 13th. Though its performance was perhaps disappointing in the USA, around the world it is the #1 animated feature of the year, having taken in $664 million total. Which virtually assures that there will in fact be a Kung Fu Panda 3, as KFP2 surpassed Dreamworks’ self-imposed $500 million worldwide “magic number” for making a film into a franchise.

The newest flash update for Homestuck was released this morning, and this happened. Seems relevant. (Massive fucking spoilers, by the way.)
fur-sale subreddit?
Would anyone else be interested in a subreddit where furry artists can list their suits, art,or services for sale?
r/mall seems pretty dead and furry art is a pretty niche market. I'm just curious how it might fare.
I just wanted to get some thoughts from the fandom rather than just run off and start up another doomed sub.

‘Homestuck’ fans derail Newgrounds in accidental flash mob

A torrent of Homestuck fans has taken flash hosting site Newgrounds offline. [tip: Sgeo]
Temporarily hosted off-site. Mirror crashed. Will try something else later.
The popular comic adventure had as of today reached the 13-minute long finale of Act 5, which had been temporarily hosted on Newgrounds.
Upon hearing the news, creator Andrew Hussie‘s first comment was “well, that didn’t work”. He later explained the hosting situation and posted the flash file; it was soon torrented.
The comic is known among furs for therianthropic feline troll, Nepeta, furry fan Jade Harley, and for the inspiration of furry-heavy spin-off, Prequel.
