I need some help with a Fursuit Head
Hey guys, thanks for taking the time to read this. I've been really wanting to make my own fursuit lately, but one major factor is that I don't know which type of material I should use. Things like the Balaclava Method and the mesh method seem to be some of the more popular, but I was wondering some of the basic things: Which ones are the easiest to make, cheapest to make, most available materials, time, and how the final outcome is. I know that's asking for a lot, but I need to know whether one material creates a better fursuit and whatnot. Thanks.

Does anyone else enjoy the fandom for its uniqueness, for being different?
Not really sure how to ask this type of question so I think its best I start off with my hook to furries and why.
Since I was a kid I watched many movies like The Secret of NIMTH, The Land Before Time, Water Ship Down, Disney's Robin Hood, Bambi, and Once upon a forest and fell in love with the world of furries because of wonderful movies like this.
I love how unique and different they are. I see and interact with humans every day and its nice to be able to day-dream of another civilization made of anthromorph's.
Does anyone else enjoy the fandom for its uniqueness, all I have ever read about and seen is 'yiff piles' and anything of the sexual nature.
I'm the type of person who would suit up and walk down the street for fun, or even walk through the mall. I see and feel apart of the the innocent side of being a furry but I feel it is clouded by the dark side of it.
Its really hard to explain how I feel, I hope this make's some sense.
EDITED
EDIT Just wish to say thank you to all the replies, I am happy to see that there are others that think similarly.

Furs! Can you help me out for a second? (Survey)
EDIT: Just hit 100 answers! That's all I need. Thanks everyone for participating!
As posted in r/LGBT:
I'm a LGBT undergrad student studying linguistics, with interest in the way different minority groups view themselves. I have a quick (5 min or less) survey for my assignment this week. It just occured to me that Reddit would be the quickest way to get a large number surveyed.
If y'all could help me out and fill this out, then I'd be most greatful.
This is all anonymous.
I'm finding some interesting stuff, and I could use a new demographic. If you take this survey, on question #5 could you add "r/furry" so I can seperate the groups? Thanks!

Funday PawPet Show manatee on auction block

The original Hugh T. Manatee, a regular member of the Funday PawPet Show cast, is up for auction.
Funds will be used to purchase new equipment for Poinkcast, HughTube and video archive digitization.

Puppeteer JR explained the sale [tip: BabsBunny]:
A few weeks ago, I started thinking, I’d love to have a YouTube channel focusing on stuff I’ve done and Hugh and Poink; [...] So, I created HughTube. [...] I decided I really wanted to build this up, film stuff with Poink and Hugh that hasn’t been seen anywhere, and really build up the PoinkCast brand. I put together a list of stuff I’d need, and realized that if I did it all out of pocket it was going to take a while. So I posted it on FA and asked for donations.

Behind the Maus
Considered by many critics and fans to be one of the most significant (as in, socially relevant) anthropomorphic works of the 20th Century, Art Spiegelman’s Maus: A Survivor’s Tale brought us the story of a Jewish family struggling to stay alive and together in the horror of Nazi Germany during World War II. And it did so through the medium of funny animal comics — but oh, were funny animals ever so not funny… In the years since the publication of Maus (and after numerous awards), Art Spiegelman has been hounded by questions: Why the Holocaust? Why mice? And why a comic book? Now, he attempts to take those questions head-on in his new hardcover book, Metamaus: A Look Inside A Modern Classic, Maus, which is available now from Pantheon Books. The book and accompanying DVD not only include an on-screen version of The Complete Maus, but also interviews with the creator’s father, memories of his mother (both his parents were held prisoner in concentration camps) by folks who knew her, scholarly essays on Maus, loads of background sketches, and much more.

We should have a new anthro Reddit alien each week... I, for one, would love to design one!
