CNN reports that an all-white kiwi has hatched at New Zealand’s national wildlife center. The news report says that it is not an albino.

The chick is believed to be the first white kiwi to be hatched in captivity.

BBC News reports that two liger cubs, the offspring of a male lion and a female tiger, are being nursed by a dog at the Xixiakou Wildlife Zoo in China after the cubs’ mother stopped feeding them. The ligers are very rare and are believed to only result from matings in captivity.

The alarm was first raised by a concerned member of the public who believed there was an escaped white tiger hiding in a field near Hedge End.

Officers were sent to the scene along with a helicopter and thermal imaging cameras, at about 1600 BST on Saturday.

When no body heat was detected police moved in and found a cuddly toy tiger.

I love fursuits, and inevitably it's going to be a topic whenever I'm conversing with a furry. Once in a while, I hear people say they're creepy. One thing I keep forgetting when they say that, is to ask them why they find them creepy.

I thought a bit about it myself, and figured people probably find them creepy because murrsuits - fursuits with holes for the savage parts - do exist. Is this why fursuits are considered creepy by those people?

Personally I think they're awesome. Not because it allows you to get closer to your real personality (e.g your fursona, or if you're an otherkin, get closer to your alter ego), but also because it allows you be a completely different person.

Let's say that somebody has multiple characters, and not just 1 fursona (I kind of like to call people with multiple characters people with a weak sort of multiple personality disorder, but I know that's a totally politically incorrect thing to say) - if they have multiple characters, it allows you to roleplay yourself into that other character, without people thinking you're as much as a freak as you would probably appear without a fursuit. You're a different person in the suit.

So, anyway, reasons for not having fursuits? Do such reasons exist? I totally want one, but I can't even decide on my fursona...
