So, yeah... After some time thinking about it, learning and doing some of the good old fashion lurk I decided that it's time to let myself go and stop refusing what I really like and want to be part of..... IMMA FKING WOLF DAMMIT (งಠ ͜ʖಠ)ง

Ok really, I've never thought of the furries as something to do a fandom, I mean, I like the designs from movies and tv cartoons but things like the cons, arts, music (actually I didn't believe in music until a few days xp ) and because the lack of info about the fandom, besides of the apparently common thought that everything in the furs is porn, I've been away from it. That is until I found the art of Falvie and She pretty much wololo'd me xD

And yes, a little of back story. About myself, not that cares a lot but.... I'm a male, a MEXICAN male (yeah, the bad grammar in this post... sorry :x) studying graphic design, just starting so if I ever post draws you know what to expect and... pfff I don't know what else hmm.... 5.2 ft tall maybe?

Yeah, that's pretty much I can think. I hope to have fun in this subreddit, probably yes, and if you don't mind I'd be really thankful for some help to start a fursona, I'm not the best at drawing but I can do stuff. And also I'm still young to think in a full fursuit, but if someone from mexico could tell me of a place to buy at least ears and tails It'd be nice. Ok, I ain't making this any longer so let's keep it there. Have a nice night/day/weird dream hunt and hopefully I'll be coming here often ^

I've seen this problem come up a few times in furry writing - there's no good word to collectively refer to anthropomorphic animal characters.

What would you call Krystal, Renamon and Zig-Zag, collectively?

Anthropomorphic animals is both a mouthful and doesn't really convey the right notion of "humans with fur and tails".

I've seen "Anthros" used in Subject 9, which is insanely awkward - a fox character referring to his group as "Us Anthros" sounds terrible.

"Furries" is a really bad idea, since it's generally meant to refer to fans of Anthro characters. "Furries" doesn't really make me think of characters like Krystal - it makes me think of nerdy guys wearing tails.

I've used "fur" in my own writing, as in "Krystal, Renamon and Zig-Zag are attractive female furs". This was the least awkward way I found to word it, although it carries the same problem as "Furries" since "furries" and "furs" are generally interchangeable.

The designers of Furoticon ran into this problem - their solution was to invent a new term, "furre". A google search reveals that Furcadia also employs the word "furre". I don't like it much - it's a made-up word, it looks awkward and it's pronounciation is identical to "fur".

Any ideas? This has been bugging me for a while now.
