Tigers, Alligators Head for China Theme, Food Park

BEIJING (Reuters) - One hundred tigers and 2,000 alligators have been flown from Thailand to China to grace an animal park where visitors will be able to admire and eat some of the creatures displayed, a park official said Thursday.

Truely unusual...but at least they would work to raise the numbers first.

I read once that the only way to save endangered species (this was a theory, please bear in mind) was to make them more useful to humanity, to the point that hte average human would think twice and three times before advocating destroying natural territory or killing an endangered animal.

But...that doesn't prevent me from finding this to be slightly creepy.
