I'm not sure I understand the question. Is this topic we find interesting? Or topic whose drama we find interesting? Or topic we like because it makes the least drama?

Contentious mean a topic which causes argument/disagreement. So probably a blend of the first two.

I know what that means but I want to know what he means by the question because that isn't clear.
