Looks like what people's favorite contentious topic is in itself a contentious topic.
I'm not sure I understand the question. Is this topic we find interesting? Or topic whose drama we find interesting? Or topic we like because it makes the least drama?

Contentious mean a topic which causes argument/disagreement. So probably a blend of the first two.
I know what that means but I want to know what he means by the question because that isn't clear.

I guess "what topic do you like to argue about or see argued the most" is pretty close. I noticed that people seem to like doing that here!
