I must really write something for a published anthology sometime. The only time I think about it though is when I actually see a call like this.

"If all mankind minus one, were of one opinion, and only one person were of the contrary opinion, mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person, than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind."

I have one submitted at the moment (not to THIS call I'm not going to say which one I don't think that's proper), probably won't find out until late this year/early next if it makes it though.

I really like how this one came out, and hope it gets accepted so I can finally transition from writer to author. Hopefully that won't make me lazy though.

I think I can call myself an author. I have had letters published in newspapers before and this year I was an author on a scientific paper. :) Just no fiction, yet. If I could think of a good story for a novel, I'd write it.

That doesn't really count. You have to get other people to call you an author. Then it's official. ;-)

Huskyteer also posted a guide to submitting stories over at [adjective][species], for those interested.
