Digging Up Positivity - June 2026
Temperatures are rising, but so do the charity numbers. We also spotted the first ninja giraffe in the world, and our special guest is a long standing member of the furry community, an adorable plush fox that is mostly active behind the curtains! Aurapuffs!

Willow, not just the voice of Mitzi May in the excellent indie animation series Lackadaisy, but being an excellent help behind the scenes of Iron Circus, the company responsible for said series. But unfortunately Willow is battling cancer, and life is not allowing them a break. However, the fandom came together and raised $5,971 so far!
Galactic Furcamp raised $25,000
Galatic Furcamp is a unique furry event of 3 days where 607 lovely furries danced their hearts away, had fun with friends, enjoyed furry panels and other things. What makes this so special and unique? This all happened on board the USS Hornet! A retired American aircraft carrier which served in World War 2. Today it is the center piece for the USS Hornet Museum in San Francisco. And Galactic Camp raised $25,000 for them!
Furality Ultra raised $116,121
27,943 of our virtual friendos from Furality are responsible for the biggest one time amount Resilient Hearts has ever received! $116,121 yes, the number is higher than on screen, as people kept on donating after the initial announcement! You can hear their voices breaking from the pure adrenaline, truly riveting stuff!

MeetsFurYou raised $954.53
A staple of Dutch Comic Con is the MeetsFurYou stand in the fandom area. What started as a moment for a group photo ended up as the biggest fandom stand around, with refreshments, a place to cool down and to socialise amongst the chaos of a Comic Con. To make this all possible, people donate through empty cans, direct donations, or through buying merch and this year MeetsFurYou raised a record shattering $954.53!
.furry raised $86,827.00 so far
It is no secret that furries run the internet, but until this day we don’t have our own top level domain! Back in the early days they were mostly reserved for countries or organisation identifiers. However, since 2012, a whole bunch of new ways were added, like .social, .engineering but also .dog . The furry non-profit hackerspace Pawprint Prototyping is working hard to make .furry a reality.
At the time of recording they are at 95% of the amount needed with a little over a month to go! The funds will used in addition to all of this to fund furry and LGBTQIA+ spaces, their ongoing educational mission for their non-profit hacker space and future development focused on digital sovereignty within the furry community.
And I think that last one, as someone in the IT sector myself is really needed.
We broke the 1.2 million
Did you know that with all these charities, fundraisers and other wholesome events, the furry fandom has raised over 1.2 million USD worldwide this year alone! With several events like Furality Ultra and Fluff Event breaking the $100,000 raised in one go, and the convention season has barely started yet! I am stoked to see it shatter last year's record of 2,199,658.48 dollar. Of course I will list all the data in the Furry Charity Index at the end of this year right here on YouTube!
Worst case climate change is off the table
Plenty of people who are way smarter than this meerkat explained climate change. It is a thing, it is manmade, and it has impact on us all. Plenty of people around the world are taking action, from personal level to entire countries, or even coalitions. While we still have a long journey ahead, this show is called Digging Up Positivity! From Europe to China, from China to South America people woke up and started to work on green initiatives. And now it is official! The worst case scenario is off the table! We are heading in the right direction. The current projection, 2.1 to 3.7 (C) degrees global warming will still have plenty of effects that need dire work, but together we can work for a better future, and I am glad to say, we are starting to see results!
Gracie the Giraffe
When you have animals on your ranch, sometimes they go missing. Some animals are easily overlooked. Or they possess excellent ninja skills. One of them is Gracie. Gracie broke out of the Texas Ranch where she lives, it took over two weeks to find her again. Gracie is a giraffe. Now, much to my knowledge, then again I am just a merekat, giraffes are not known for their stealth rolls and hiding abilities.
Fortunately after she was spotted on multiple game cameras, and on aerial surveillance footage, she was found about 4 miles from the ranch. She is expected to rejoin her fellow giraffes at the ranch soon, but they are going to ensure she can’t get out again. They thought the steep rocks were enough to keep giraffes at bay. But Gracie was no ordinary giraffe. And maybe she will learn her flock a thing or two.
The Cat that stole the show
Every actor knows, if you die on stage, you stay dead. No matter what happens, you don’t move. And last month in Turkey, a stage actor found himself tested unlike no other! In Act 3 of Romeo and Juliet, where this ballet is based on Romeo declares: “Heaven is here where Juliet lives. And every cat and dog and little mouse, every unworthy thing, live here in heaven and may look on her.” And the actor Took this to heart.
Well, the cat thought otherwise and while at first he just sat next to Romeo, he begins biting and scratching the poor performers head. But, this actor did not flinch one bit! Juliet tried to improvise a little by dragging him away from the cat. Eventually our feline friend jumped on the table, and proceeded with undoubtedly more important things, leaving the audience with a rather unique rendition of this play! He did make a little appearance at the final bow though. After all, he is a cat!
Forgotten Island
The people behind Puss in Boots 2 are at it again. This time with Forgotten Island. This animation starts of in the Filipinos where a young couple is celebrating their last night together before one of them is going to America to study. But the night does not go as planned as they both get isekai’ed to a strange Island.
Besides the very recognizable style from this animation studio, I found myself quite intrigued with the numerous of references to the Filipino culture, like the Jeepneys, which are richly decorated trucks that are a staple of Filipino culture. The roots of these are the military jeeps left behind after WW2 repurposed in colourful means of public transportation. Flop Guy made a small video going deeper into these references. Go check it out! (After this video of course).
Mebh and the wolf pups
Cartoon Saloon, established in 1999 is an Irish animation studio that really made a splash with me with Wolf Walkers. And they are making a spinoff series: Mebh and the Wolf Pups. It’s due to premiere at the Cartoon Forum festival in September. It’s pointed at a younger audience, where Mebh, the young wolf walker we know from the original movie, is venturing into the forest with her pack of 4 young pups with each a different personality. Most likely they will solve all sorts of puzzles and have adventures with a message for the wee ones.
