Heya all on /r/furry! I'm completely new at Reddit, without any prior knowledge, although I wish to have a good time here! w^

I got pointed here after a friend of mine uploaded one of my pictures, called Catbuns & Hotdogs. People liked it and I feel I should draw more, so I'm offering five free headshots similar to the style of that picture.

For those who have no idea, Confurgence is Melbourne, Australia's annual furry con. This year it's at the Arrow on Swanston. It's expected to be around ~500 people.

EDIT: I want to thank all of you here for your support and advice. I decided to call the cops as a good few of you have advised so, and my dad's assault has been reported. My parents however feel that I was unjust in calling the police, so they've decided that I am on thin ice. All of my school funds from them will be pulled next semester and everything else that I am going to need is now going to have to come out of my own money. But they are also putting my name on the title to my car, so that is a good thing. For now I'm going to get my stuff all packed up and get out of here. Thanks again for all your help and love guys. I'll try to respond to as many of you as I can when I get back to my apartment.

This is a really stupid and long story but I'm in a shitty place right now and I just need some support. Some of you may know me, I've been here a while, as both a lurker and a sparse poster and commenter. This has hardly anything to do with furries but I just need somewhere to go and this is my only real safe place.

I'm a college student and I'm at home with my parents for the holidays. I've been dealing with a terrible bad cough and deep congestion issues for the past few weeks, coupled with recent sinus pressure and headaches, and yesterday I decided to see some kind of clinic to figure out what I can get to make it go away. So I go up there and they say that there's some awful inflammation all around my sinuses and chest and prescribe me a few things, in particular this special inhaler that is supposed to take some anti-inflammation medication and disperse it all through my respiratory system. I thought that was it.

Later on that day, my parents go off to a friend's place to do whatever they were going there to do, and they said they'd pick up my meds on the way back. Something to note: nowhere in there did they ask if I wanted to come along or invite me to come. I didn't want to go either anyways, as I'm still fairly sick.

Well later in the evening they get back, but only with the side medications, not the inhaler. They straight up tell me "oh it was way too expensive so we didn't buy it". I'm understandably upset, and I ask them "well why didn't you call and ask for my input?" and they say that they were in the drive thru pickup and that they didn't have enough time to call me (which is basically BS). Then they ask "if this was so important then why didn't you come with us". Remember though: they never asked if I wanted to come, nor did I want to go due to being excessively sick. I'm frustrated because this is basically them saying "no we don't want to pay for you to stop being massively sick" so I tell them that and my dad suddenly spouts something about "this is what you get with obamacare" and I just tell them to leave me alone and that I'm done dealing with this for the night. They leave, I slam my door behind them.

This is where things got bad. Shortly thereafter, my dad comes barging into the room and charges right at me. He rams me, shoves me back onto this armchair and then starts trying to pin me down by my neck. I managed to kick him off me and he backs up a little and starts shouting at me about basically nothing of any relevance, and I just tell him to get out of my room.

At this point I just want to leave, so after he gets out and shuts the door behind him, I start packing my stuff up. I planned to leave early in the morning before they had a chance to notice me leaving.

This morning, I wake up extra early and go to grab my keys so I can get my stuff into my car and get the hell out. It snowed overnight but I knew that if I drove carefully enough I'd be fine. Most of the highways I needed to take to get back to college were fine anyways. However, my parents grabbed all of the keys for all of the cars (including mine) and locked them in their room while they slept. So now I had to actually confront them instead of leaving silently. Dad throws my keys at me and grumbles something like "fine, get out of here, I don't care".

Before I can start loading up my car though, my mom comes in and tells me "no you're not leaving for another few days until I say you can because the roads are bad" and at this point I'm just fed up so I tell her "shove it mom, I'm getting out of here now". She then proceeds to threaten to disable my car so that I can't leave period. I end up arguing with her and she says this wonderful little gem: "Yes it is fine for him to physically attack you because you verbally attacked us". I'd like to mention that a little while earlier she said "how are you gonna stop me from disabling your car? Hurt me? I'll call the cops and you'll go to jail", so there's some nice roundabout logic going on in her head there.

Somehow I get her to stop trying to disable my car and tell her that the second I deem the roads clear enough for me to drive on, I'm leaving. But that still leaves me stuck in this nightmare house waiting for the snow to be cleared off all the major highways.

Sorry if there are any grammatical errors, I just spat this all out in the period of a few minutes and am not really in any mental state to be caring about my sentence structure.

TL;DR: My dad physically assaulted me, my mom thinks that it's OK for him to have done that, I just want to get the fuck out of here, I can't because the roads are covered in snow, and I just really really need some support and reassurance right now because I'm actually somewhat afraid for my life. I'm sorry if this is the wrong place but this community is such a wonderful and welcoming place and I was just hoping I could get some caring words from you all.

A friend and myself have been creating parallel universe but we have hit a wall. This is where we are asking for help, in this universe female character names have to stick to a rule in their culture. That rule is that a female name has to ether end with a double character like my name Narvi"ee" or it repeats its self, eg Kiki.

Any suggestions will be helpful

It's about a guy in the closet have his secret get out, he flees and meets a bunch of new friends (including a boyfriend, the only one I remember being a bat), gets to a gay pride parade, and eventually faces his parents.

This webcomic had been worked on for years, and just finished in 2014.

Any help is appreciated!

EDIT: Found it after, like, an hour of looking. It's called Rasvaar. It's safe-for-work, and a pretty good read. I recommend it!

We got this from Movie Finatic: Animation fandom circles are all a-buzz (or is it reeling?) from the news that director and producer Michael Bay, fresh from his successful (at least financially) re-boot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise is now set to give a try at a live-action movie based on (wait for it): Thundercats. The thought of Mr. Bay taking on another 80’s animated TV icon was enough for no less than The Onion to create their own spoof article. But is all this just talk or is it actually happening? Stay Tooned! *Snarf Snarf Snarf…*
