Thank you so much, I went for the day today and I had one of the best times of my life! It was my first con, so needless to say i was a little nervous, but it was so wonderful, I got my first commission there and got to see some great suits, great art, and such a wonderful crowd!

I brought my mate and although she is a furry, she was not as into the fandom as me, and being unused to the idea of cons she was nervous, but everyone there was so open and kind that she felt right at home and suddenly we were having the time of our lives. So many great things going on, even for just the day! I couldn't imagine what it would have been like to stay for all three days. But all in all thank you all, there is no fandom out there that is more kind and welcoming than ours, and it really shows!

There has been a chemical leak in the Hyatt Regency Hotel and all attendees have been evacuated.

I have no confirmation of anything beyond a chemical leak, but I have heard chlorine mentioned several times.

Almost everyone is okay - if you're worried about someone make sure to contact them. Unfortunately, I did see an ambulance drive away with some attendees inside.

Edit: 2:30 AM I now have confirmation that it indeed was a chlorine leak.

Edit two: 4:30 AM we have been allowed back into our rooms!

So a buddy of mine just called me and apparently a chemical spill (Chlorine gas) Was leaked in MWFF and they evacuated the building.

If you have a friend at MWFF, give them a call to make sure they're okay.

Anyone at the event right now care to share some eyewitness whats happenings right now?

The artist Nic Gregory recently emigrated from Australia to the United States — and in the middle of it, found time to complete an illustrated book project: Sleeping Beauty, re-imagined with birds. Amy Gregory wrote the adaptation, and Nic created the full-color artwork. Now the completed hardcover is available at Nic’s web site, along with examples of his animation art and character design. Interesting trivia: Nic is a former hip-hop musician, and a former pro wrestler — who even had his own action figure.

Hi, I'm strata, I've been around this community for a while, (not reddit), and I don't have any artwork of my 'sona. This is due to my lack of artistical talent and a lack of money for artwork. so I was wondering if any helpful fur out there could quickly whip up any artwork for me please.

My 'sona is a tall-ish neon blue male fox with a darker color on the back and lighter on the front. I have a fluffy tail and a tab bit of a muscular build. If you do draw my 'sona please make my mouth smirking in wither a playful way or a sly way.

Any artwork would do, even if it a sketch. Thank you furry friends! >w~

I've never been drawn as a furry before, but I'd love to get one done. I'm not really sure where to go or what to do about it though haha. I've been told I have wolf type style, and I'm willing to provide pictures to base of off.

For a while I've pondered upon the nature of the furry fandom, and how it compares to other fandoms out there. While not as widely known or as large as other fandoms, the Furry fandom is unique in that it's probably the most generalized fandom out there. Think about it: when you strip away all the costumes, the fetishes, the fursonas and all the nitty-gritty stuff, in its most basic form, a furry is simply someone with a passion or interest in anthropomorphosized animals, and that could mean anything. As far back as the stone age, anthros have appeared in every possible form of art and media: paintings, carvings, drawings, fables, novels, musicals, operas, songs, poems, radio, film, puppet shows, animation, advertisements, corporate mascots, and so on.

Compare that to, say, Star Wars fans. The Star Wars fandom is huge, that's no secret, but it only centers on a single franchise. The Anime fandom centers on a single medium of animation. Even video game fans, whose favored pastime includes all sorts of different genres and themes, is limited to a single medium of interactive electronic devices. Anthropomorphic animals can be found in all of these and more, as the idea of an animal given human qualities of any kind (including thought and speech) leaves a load of wiggle room. It certainly explains the sheer diversity of the fandom.

Hey guys, do you like free art? I sure as hell do. Anyways, I'm feeling bored of my own ideas and making nsfw stuff so I thought the best way to combat this was to draw people's ocs. So, what does this mean? This means that if you post a good reference of your oc, a description of a pose, and the name of a good furry artist, you will have a chance at getting a full color drawing or an inked lineart depending on how much I like your character. I might do two if I like some ideas too much but I will most likely only do one. Offer ends at 8pm tonight (12 hours from now). Oh yeah, the only good reference of my work is nsfw so if you're okay with that, look up rottenorange on FA. I think that's it. See y'all tonight!
