You can get angry at the FA security loop holes and how the website seems to be stuck in the mid 2000s. That's logical but holy hell the constant stream of dragoneer conspiracies with no proof to back them up is extremely childish. It's not productive at all. People also don't realize that FA is an entire team and neer is just the scape goat for people's rage. Can we start pointing out just how stupid these actions are to people? They don't help improve the site at all.

Dear Papa Bear,

Hey, it's been a while since I wrote you last! I have a different kind of question for you concerning fursuits. I've made two suits myself before, but they weren't ACTUAL suits like you see at the furry cons, but more like modified clothes I altered myself a few years ago. I then bought a mascot suit earlier this year for AC '14, and even though I had a great time, I knew it wasn't the real deal. Can I still call myself a fursuiter if I either wear a bought mascot suit or clothes that I added animal ears and tails to?

The thing to remember here is that fursuiting should be fun! Let’s not split hairs (hares?) about what is a “real” fursuit and what isn’t. If you have a mascot suit, that’s fine. The point is that you had a great time!

Yes, you’re a fursuiter. Anyfur tells you otherwise, I suggest you give them a big kiss on the lips, giggle, and bounce away happily just to piss them off :-P

So as the title says, I'm new to the furry community, but I've been looking at porn (blunt, I know) for several years now. But I've always had an idea what type of animal I would be.

Obviously I'm willing to pay, but unfortunately since I'm new to accepting myself as a furry I do not have a FA account and I cannot create one because registration is down at the moment.

Anyways, I'd really love some help!

Edit: I should clarify, I want to know if you have any recommended artists or if you do it yourself. Also I know a majority of my fursona, I just want an artistic person's perspective.

And now, babbling...

I am totally going to Furpocalypse. After 25ish years of being furry, I'm finally going to a con. My friend is coming too on Saturday, but I think I'm going all three days. I really, really, really wish my wife could come. I'm excited and scared at the same time. I really hope it's fun. I don't know if I should try to get a hotel or just drive back and forth from home, which is an hour away. Or maybe just find somewhere to sleep in the car (I do a lot of camping, so I'm well set up for a very comfortable night in the Outback). Or just get a hotel for one of the nights so I can stay up late and dance and drink some.

Or maybe I'll get bored after half an hour and feel awkward and out-of-place and lonely.

Or maybe it will make me feel too old and like an outsider and I'll just long painfully to be part of something I'm too late for.

I want to buy some ears and maybe a yarn tail and maybe some paws and maybe 17 fursuits. I hope there are good vendors!

Oh man, I hope Telephone is there. Except then if I see her and can give her a hug I'm kinda worried I'll be so overwhelmed I'll start crying. Which is...unseemly. For a 40-year-old, straight dude. Maybe I hope Telephone is not there.

I really want to give a fursuiter a hug. Is that anywhere near as good as I imagine it, or just...sweaty?

I have a underused server where I host the bot so I decided to set up a mumble server so all of us fuzzbutts can join a voice chan whenever we want in a more casual and anon way than Skype is.

Since I'm over and beyond my 3G data cap I'm stranded at 64K internet speed* and I would like to have someone else (a couple of someone elses) to test wether the server works OK.

You will need a recent mumble version (opus-enabled), get latest here.
If you don't know what text-to-speech is you most likely want it disabled! uncheck during installation. Can be enabled/disabled later from the options menu.

Any volunteers?
