I loved that movie so much as a kid!! I'd always cherish the times mom and dad would rent the vhs for me... It probably laid a lot of the groundwork for me ending up a furry. But nowadays nobody ever seems to care or remember it... Heck, I forgot about it myself until I found it again at Kmart for $5. But since I've been browsing the furry communities, I love how I keep seeing others that loved it too! I knew I couldn't be the only one who thought it was great. I just think that's really cool.

It strikes me as only entirely natural that furry and transhumanist groups would have a natural rapport, since morphological freedom is a major plank in the transhumanist agenda, and whether you subscribe to its liberal strain or libertarian strain, you probably value the idea that people can have greater freedom to "choose their bodies" through whatever form of technology is available to them at the moment, or whatever technologies may be invented in the future.

So, I guess that I'd like to post this question as a place to start the discussion:

• Would you be receptive to the idea of using advanced medical technologies to create actual, real-world "furries" when technological advances make it possible?
• If you answered "no" to #1, would you be upset if others decided that they were receptive to it, and went ahead with the procedure?
• If you have an objection or concern I didn't ask about, that's what this thread is for!

First off, Hello I am Leunam (well what I go by)

now heres the story behind my question. A friend of mine from the fandom were discussing characters in a story im writing, he noticed that the main character (and indeed many characters) are humans with animal features and an animal form they can take, the character he noticed that was based (loosely) on myself looks human except he has black dragon scales down his back, arms, neck and legs as well as black dragon wings, the character has a dragon form that looks a bit like toothless in his alpha form (without the glowing and less rounded face). well anyways, we got talking and discussing what I would be classified as. so if any of you would like to help me out....Am I a Furry

There are many things that a fursona can be and mean to and for a person, and I would love to hear about you if you would. Like to write.

But first I thought I could take a moment to reflect upon what it means to me.

For me, my fursona is a husky with animated green sound waves on it. What it looks like is not important too much. But what I realised, is that when I described my character, its personality and hobbies, it is most definitely a representation of me.

My fursona is a representation of me, yeah, we have all heard that. But it is not everything about me. When describing my character, I made my character to be the best version of me. Not best in terms of the world and society, but my fursona is essentially the version of me I love the most. All of the traits I admire in myself and the hobbies I wish to keep forever.

So the other day, I was confused, and didn't know what to do when presented with conflict. Often times you will hear people talking about how at times like these, they think "what would Jesus do" or something like that. After think for a moment, I asked myself, what would I do?

Now I know I am not my fursona, we all have flaws. But at the same time, I am. Of course even my fursona has flaws. It has my flaws. But in defining myself, even as a husky, I have come to admire myself, and there should be nothing wrong with that.

Hi there. I do not consider myself a furry, but I feel some sort of connection to furries and I was wondering if anyone would help me to identify what this connection I am feeling is.

So lets kind of get started. Fisrt, I want to tell you a little bit about what I like and dislike or dont care about just so that you would have an idea of where I am coming from when I ask my question.

I do like the idea of anthropomorphic animals. I like the more feral side of it though. And I think that some art of furrysonas are cool. I like the cute pictures and stuff. I'm sure that you've seen the "Zootopia" teaser by now, I did quite enjoy that. (Although I generally enjoy animation.) I love pokemon a ton.

I don't really like role play and I've noticed that a lot of furries do that. (Or so, it seems that way to me. I'm more of an outsider and don't really keep tabs on furries and what you all do all the time.) I do not really like the really muscular looking animals and that kind of thing. I don't really enjoy really humanized looking animals I guess.

Ok, so, here is what I am struggling with. I almost kind of feel like a furry, but at the same time, I really don't. I am just unsure if I really am or not. I do not associate myself with an animal and do not think of myself as any animal. I am not too interested in fur suits or anything. And deep down, I find it hard to accept that. I would have a hard time calling myself a furry. It would feel like I am stepping against a strong current of water to call myself a furry. Part of me wants to kind of just jump in and join the ranks. But the other part of me is holding me back, just allowing myself to watch at a distance.

I'm not sure if I am just rambling, but I guess, has anyone else experienced this and how did you deal with it? (I mean, not like, what was the end result, but also how did you get to that end-result?)
