"Postcards from Buster" Controversy

Your rating: None Average: 5 (1 vote)

PBS's critically acclaimed anthropomorphic children's cartoon, Arthur, has a new spinoff called Postcards from Buster. The spinoff focuses on the adventures of Buster the Bunny as he travels around the United States and meets people from different cultures.
A recent episode of the cartoon involves Buster's trip to Vermont, where the title character spends time on a farm. There are two families with same-sex parents in the episode.

Considerable pressure from the Bush administration and conservative groups has caused PBS to drop distribution of the episode because it portrays gays as parents. Some discussion on both sides of the issue is available from CNN.
