There’s all sorts of things that would have to be different about the world around us, were it a truly furry world.  These can be as simple as structuring chairs differently, or as complicated as equal rights for all species in a multi-species setting.  Lets collect a bunch of them here, just for funsies!  I’ve divided the list up into species-specific and non species-specific issues, with sub-categories in the species-specific category.  Inspired by this.

Species specific

• Snakes, Nagas, and the like
  • Stairs could pose quite an issue
• Giraffes
  • Doorways could prove to be awkward, and building every building to accommodate might be impractical
• Elephants
  • As with Giraffes, buildings would need to be specially designed
• Avians
  • Steps would get awkward
  • Possible entrances on multiple levels, and perches within a building
  • Air-traffic regulations are bad enough, but add in avians flying about…
• Bats
  • How do shirts work?

Not species-specific

• Motorcycles and convertibles could cause some…facial discomfort.
• Speaking of, motorcycles, bicycles and the like – would have to come up with a way to keep fur or entire tails from getting trapped in the chain!
• Eating gummi worms
• “Being a professional chef, my career would be over. Hair, on ALL OF THE THINGS! I’d have to shave my hands and arms to work.”
• “More food for thought (literally): eating. Most furries are canine; ripping/tearing eating, rather than mashing as human.”
• “Another big problem: I’d be expected to be dressed, probably to human standards, so I’d be too warm.”
• Bathing would be a pain – so anything that involves getting dirty
• Cups could be a real pain (see comment)
• Differences in senses could cause awkwardness or even strife (see comment)
• The tricky question of carnivores versus herbivores. (see comment)
• Workplace discrimination based on species attributes. (see comment)
• Cleaning the drain.  Monthly.

Well as all furry movies that come up lets hope this one wins the tail! I came across this new movie being worked on, thanks the inspiration of the Pittsburgh, PA convention “AnthroCon” . The movie glamorously titled “The Honey Cooler” has some interesting ideas and well laid out funny scenes. Take a look at the plot and more pics HERE.

We’ve got an hour-long episode for you this week, with three e-mails to read and a lot of information! We discuss how to deal with people who just want to use you, how to handle a difficult relationship situation, and how to…whatever the heck Sclariqrevk is doing! We also tangent off about the end of the Iraq war, SOPA and NDAA, how to end a conversation, and lots more! The standard shenanigans ensue, as well: Istanbul goes on a rant about priorities, there’s mention of what kind of Pokemon Kyo is and banana pudding and fake homework and careface and vaginal tractor beams and lots more!

Who knew that Secret of NIMH director Don Bluth and his crew had their own version of Beauty and the Beast in the works? Well they did, back in the day, and we stumbled across some pictures from the project. According to animation historian John Cawley (from Get Animated), “Early in 1984, Don began in earnest turning the famous tale into an animated feature. He even announced it in the Fall of 1990 in his Animation Club newsletter. At the time, he described it as ‘a tender love story that says, ‘a thing must be loved before it’s lovable.’ We sprinkled this classic tale with a generous amount of comedy, a little bit of terror, and a lot of love. From Nan, the clairvoyant dog, Max, a bird detective, and Otto, an escape artist lizard, to the King Bats, the Wee Beasties and Queen Livia, herself, this picture has something for everyone.’ An American Tail also interrupted this production. As work began on Land Before Time, Don felt that Beauty and the Beast would be his first independent picture. However in late 1986, the Disney Studio announced they were working on a version and by 1989 had begun full production (for a 1991 release). Knowing his version could not be completed before Disney’s, Don dropped the project.” The picture below and others were recently uncovered on Tumbler.
