Surprise Guest for ConFurence 2003
I wish, oh I *REALLY* wish I could tell you who just accepted to be a guest at ConFurence 2003... However, due to contractual obligations, he would have to jump through legal hoops and we would end up getting buried in paperwork before being able to make any kind of announcement of his being a guest at any public function.
However, I *CAN* tell you that he is the Director of one of the anthropomorphic Motion Pictures nominated to receive this year's Ursa Major Award and he will be at ConFurence 2003: The Furry West as our surprise Guest of Honor!!!
This year's Ursa Major nominees for best Anthropomorphic motion picture are:
* Ice Age
* Spirit: Stallion of the Cimaron
* Spirited Away
* Lilo & Stitch
* Stuart Little 2
We just *can't* tell you who it is before the convention, but he is the director of one of the above films.

... it's a "he", so it's not the female co-directors of Spirit.
... it's a Director (singular), so it's not Chris Sanders & Dean DeBlois (co-directors) of Lilo & Stitch.
...it's not Hayao Miyazaki of Spirited Away. It's just not.
Which leaves Chris Wedge (from Ice Age) and Rob Minkoff (from Stuart Little 2). Since Wedge's Blue Sky Studios is in NYC, and Rob Minkoff is likely in LA....I'm guessing Mr. Minkoff.
I'll remember to ask him and the other directors about it at tonight's Annies. =};-3
Darn! I was hoping it would be Miyazaki. I know I'd take a weekend off from work to see him. =)

Your logic assumes that I am a careful typer...
"he" *could* mean the generic "he" as in "Human".
"the director" could have been referring to "a director".
No one is ruled out by semantics...
