ConFurence is Chock Full of Guests!

Your rating: None Average: 5 (2 votes)

Our Guests of Honor at ConFurence 2003: The Furry West include the popular artist: Dark Natasha, the incredible fantasy artist: Theresa Mather, anthropomorphic sculptor and long-time fan Ruben Avila, popular filksinger, Leslie Fish, and popular artist, Roy D. Pounds. Rounding up our guest lineup is the one and only Omaha Sternberg, and Comic Book Artist Joe Staton!

But we didn't stop there! Also Appearing are several notable guests who are interested in attending panels, night events, or setting up a table in the Dealer's Room:

Charles Zembillas, the animator behind Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon (and going back even further, the character sheet artist on both the He-Man and She-Ra cartoons) announced that he will be attending ConFurence.

Paul Kidd, author and game designer from Australia is also looking for a few extra dollars to help cover the cost of travelling to the convention... we already have a small fund waiting for him, but it's not enough to cover his costs yet. Earmark your sponsor dollars for Paul Kidd to increase his chances of making it out this year.

We also have a SURPRISE GUEST who, due to legal spaghetti can't let us announce his (or her) name without us getting into a contract with his handlers... but we can tell you that he (or she) is a director of one of the five films nominated for this year's Ursa Major Award for best animated motion picture... Wait till you see who it is!

John Cawley will also be returning to ConFurence this year, and will be running the Fursuit Dance on Saturday night. He's also bringing along a few friends: George Krstic, Jody Schaeffer, and Chris Prynoski to D.J. the event... you might recognize their names as the creators of a few recent creations on MTV and Cartoon Network (Low-brow, Downtown, and others).

ConFurence runs April 25 to April 27, 2003 at the Hilton Burbank Airport and Convention Center, in Burbank California (Los Angeles County)

Membership at the Door will by $50 per person. A 2-day Friday/Saturday membership will be available for $35. Sunday only memberships will be $25.

Why so MANY guests? Most big cons only have 2 or 3.

Damn, I wish I could afford to go. I'm stuck out here on the east coast and can't afford to fly there.

Honestly, does it have to be in California? Many PacNW folks boycott everything California ever since they caused our electric rates to triple.

Baloo Usidae = Canned Troll.

Good for anti-califonianism, netcopping, and utterly stupid remarks.

If the admins of this site feel the need to delete this reply, please delete Baloo's also.

He's got a point, though. Spend more than a weekend there, especially south of Sacramento or so, and nearly everything he says is true. I must say it's rather pretentious thinking that the admins are going to listen to your suggestion to delete someone else's posts.
