Leslie Stratton is a Hollywood actress who has appeared in several movies and TV episodes. During COVID lock-down she remembered her mother’s love of pandas, and sat down to write a book based on that. The result was Let’s Share, Panda Bear, illustrated by Zuzana Svobodova. “Have you ever wondered why panda bears are black-and-white? Panda Pete, an incredibly kind panda, discovers a magical way to share colors with his animal friends. As the forest transforms into a vibrant rainbow, each creature joyously embraces their unique shades. Yet, in a touching twist, Pete and Jack learn that being black-and-white has its own special magic.” The web site has all the colorful details!
Convergence Con Report
Posted by Aureth on Wed 10 Jul 2002 - 14:55Last weekend, your intrepid Flayrah editor-in-chief attended CONvergence in Bloomington, Minnesota. I had a smashing good time. I will also be attending Anthrocon this coming weekend, which will be an interesting excersize in comparisions, since both AC and CON are roughly the same size, but with very different focuses and philosophies. You can click on Read More to hear about my experiences at CONvergence.
Further Confusion Newsletter - July 2002
Posted by Frysco on Wed 10 Jul 2002 - 14:50Greetings friends, from the Further Confusion 2003 executive staff. July
is finally here, the warm Bay Area weather is upon us, and we're a week
away from AnthroCon, which historically is the halfway point in
preparation for Further Confusion. We're on schedule to make 2003 the best
FurCon ever, from the Madhatter's Tea Party on Thursday night until the
final Dead Dog on Monday evening.
Stalking Cat (Dennis Avner) to appear at CritterConDiego 3
Posted by darrelx on Tue 9 Jul 2002 - 13:19Stalking Cat (his lakota name; really Dennis Avner, aka "Cat man" "Cat" or "Tiger Man") recently sent us a message to let us know that he will be attending CritterConDiego 3.
Stalking Cat has recently appeared on several programs like Ripley's Believe it or Not, the Larry King Show, and several others because he is surgically and cosmetically altering his self into his totem animal. Visit stalkingcat.com for more information and to view pictures of his current state of trans-fur-mation.
Yerf is coming back...

The perfect "Retirement House Warming" gift
Posted by Anon on Mon 8 Jul 2002 - 04:10This article in The Sun gives a glimpse into the cold harsh future of elderly care. Robot kitties in Japan are programmed to recieve and speak voice and text messages, and engage Gramma in clever word games. Sorta takes the guilt off of leaving them in a nursing home. We hope.
Great opportunity for exercise at Anthrocon!
Posted by Duncan da Husky on Thu 4 Jul 2002 - 23:08(How's that for trying to put a positive spin on bad news?)
According to an article posted to alt.fan.furry on Wednesday by Uncle Kage, the good news is that out of the bank of four elevators at the Adam's Mark Hotel, the one elevator that was supposed to be revamped and made much faster by Anthrocon will in fact be operational by that time, but because it won't be inspected until the following week it will not be available for use during the convention. See below for Kage's post, where he also mentions a bit of good news and makes a request of con attendees.

Dog Runs Against Katherine Harris in Florida

SARASOTA, Fla. — The newest candidate challenging Secretary of State Katherine Harris
in her bid for Congress is truly an underdog: a border collie mix.
Percy the dog is running as a write-in candidate in the Republican primary.
His official campaign bio describes Percy as a compassionate conservative
who takes a hard-line with social parasites, particularly fleas and worms.
His past is free of sex scandals, due to "timely neutering."

That bulge in my pocket? Oh, that's just my computer!
Posted by camstone-fox on Tue 2 Jul 2002 - 10:09A new Yahoo! mailing has been formed for furs who use various forms of Personal Digital Assistants, or PDAs. Pawpilot and Pawket PC's are all the rage of late, and hints and tips are being shared on how to take these to new furry heights.
Something for the horsey set
Posted by Ardashir on Sat 29 Jun 2002 - 15:51Now here's an article for fans of animated horses --
a history of cartoon hayburners down through the ages.
The article does a good job of covering horses in animation from
the very begining to the present -- but why say more? Go look at the link.
Kudos on this article go to Craig Loewen, who first told me about it.
New Macrofurry site about!
Posted by slothpuck on Fri 28 Jun 2002 - 11:17If - like me - you are into, or just enjoy Macrofurry - the area of furry which involves furries of unusal size, here's a new site you might like to check out. It can be found at this address:
If you're concerned about rude pictures, though there are adult areas these are very clearly labelled and indicated, and as a whole and in the majority most stuff is friendly and *clean*.
The owners and administrators of that site would ask you if you wish to join to read their FAQ and observe the rules of that site at all times.
Though, the site is not ment to be a dictatorship - it's just there for you to have fun!

FluffMUCK - Going out with a bang
Posted by ink on Fri 28 Jun 2002 - 11:16As many of you know, FluffMUCK is going away soon.
Zorin's life has become too busy to run the MUCK as well as he'd like, and so rather than letting it falter, he's closing the doors.
What you may not know is that the MUCK is going out with a bang this Sunday night!
Furry Puppets Make a comeback

"PETA? I love cats on pita. With mayo."
So while everyone's glad to see a human thespian make a comeback, when a puppet icon returns to the big time, you really have to give it a hand.
