I'm of two minds about this. One part of me agrees that the fine and the jail time are an appropriate punishment.
The other part would like to cover him in beef gravy and hurl him into a pen full of starving rats -- which is why reason and not emotion must rule the legal system.

In jail for 30 days and $1000 fine? Not nearly enough of an example made out of him, imho.
