CartoonResearch.com reports that a new live action-animation Bugs Bunny film is being worked on. Faint promises suggest that it won't be another Space Jam disaster and that they're going to try to do this one "right". Is that possible anymore? Here's tidbits:

Tentative title: "Back in Action"
Live-action director: Joe Dante
Live-action co-star: Owen Wilson
Screenplay by John Requa & Glenn Ficarra and Larry Doyle
Tentative Release date: Nov 2003

More furry (or is that feathery?) fun from Google

Your rating: None Average: 5 (2 votes)

Google is arguably the best web search engine out there, so how do they do it?
With pigeons! Thousands of pigeons!
With PigeonRank™, you don't have to look at pages ranked by birds of prey, brooding hens or slow-moving waterfowl, like those other search engines.

Foxyden

Your rating: None Average: 5 (2 votes)

Have a look at Foxyden if you have any interest in furry writing, either as a reader or a writer.

There are two particular items of interest at this site. First, the site admin is trying to restore all the content that used to reside on the now-defunct Furry Pleasures websites, and is having difficulty locating some of the authors to get their permission. If you or someone you are in touch with has written stories that used to be on Furry Pleasures, please contact T'fox.

Second is a continuing, expanding story called The Furryventure, which starting from a single scene branches out into multiple storylines, each with more branches, and so forth. Many of the branches point to unwritten episodes, and readers are encouraged to write episodes at any of these endpoints they would like to see continued. Episodes written so far range from mundane to adult to just plain weird, and while the results may not be classic literature, it can be fun to participate in.

The oryx-loving lioness has adopted a third baby oryx.

For those keeping track, the first adopted oryx was killed by other lions. The second adopted oryx was placed in a zoo because it showed signs of malnutrition.

ConFurence Hotel Group Code changed

Your rating: None Average: 5 (2 votes)

The Room block for ConFurence 2002 (April 26 to April 28, 2002) at the Hilton Burbank Airport has been extended!

However, when extending our room block, the hotel used a different Group Code for making reservations, which is causing some confusion. The old Group Code of "COF" will cause the online reservation system to say that no rooms are available, because our new Extended Room Block is listed now with the 3-letter Group Code of "COG".

We apologize to anyone who had difficulty this weekend booking their room through the Hilton.com online reservation system. Try again with the Group Code "COG" and you shouldn't have any problems.

Selling room nights at the hotel is the only way that our meeting space is paid for, and to Thank those of you who are staying at the hotel, we are offering a Discount on At-door registrations, rolling the price back to $35 if you have a room at the Hilton.

Have your hotel reservation confirmation number handy when you arrive at the convention to show that you have reserved a room, and our registration staff will give you the discount when you purchase your membership.

Tigers fight back

Bangladesh has seen a soaring rate of tiger maulings this year, with 22 people killed in the last three months, compared to 24 in the entirety of last year.
Wildlife officials blame poaching, which has halved the tiger population in the last 5 years. They say it's taught the remaining tigers to consider man an enemy

See planets like you (almost) never have before!

Your rating: None Average: 5 (2 votes)

The five planets we can see with our naked eyes (assuming you don't live in a bright city like I do) will be in the same part of the sky at the same time. This display will be easy to spot in most parts of the world, but it's not an alignment. It's a less glamourous and omnious clump.
Mercury,Venus, Mars, and Saturn will start converging in the same region of the sky on April 20th, and will be closest (within a span of 10 degrees) on May 4th. Jupiter will be a bit higher away.
Doomsday predictions, begin!
